The color blue is an airy, cool and a light color. Besides creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere, it is also known to instill optimism, hope and cheerfulness. When trying to introduce the color in the interiors of the home, how about designing the heart of the house with this color theme? Yes, we are talking about blue kitchens. As people hardly consider designing blue kitchens, choosing to design your kitchen with blue color will allow you to create something unique.
If you have really a small kitchen, you should choose white for it – it will seem bigger and airier, even if it’s very narrow and long. Add skylights or more windows to fill the space with light and make it seem even bigger. A new and hot trend is a window backsplash, which brings much light in and looks very eye-catchy and unusual – if there are gorgeous views, it’s a super cool idea.
Decorating with black and white does not mean you pick the darkest blacks and absolute whites alone. There are plenty of changes you can bring to this color scheme by simple altering the hue, shade and value of the black or white that you use. Strong grey can replace the black while creamy whites can be used in place of pristine white to fashion a novel look. Though you still need to stick to the overall color scheme, feel free to take some creative liberty here and there to set your kitchen apart from the rest.
If the space isn’t filled with sunlight, try lemon yellow or pistachio, if it’s a southern side of you home, go for cold green, turquoise, blue. Choose glossy surfaces as they create an additional volume and a dramatic effect. Why don’t we recommend orange? It’s not a good color for a kitchen as it raises your appetite, and white isn’t recommended for the same reason – it spoils appetite. Get inspired by the ideas below.
